Conductor Linhan Cui has established herself as a sought-after artist, winning the second prize in the Malko International Conducting Competition in 2021 and being named as a Dudamel Fellow of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for the 2022/23 season.
With natural expressivity at the core of her work, Linhan Cui has collaborated with orchestras such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire and the Korean Symphony Orchestra.
As a Dudamel Fellow with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, in the 2022/23 concert season, she is working alongside Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil, being a cover conductor and leading the orchestra in concerts.
During the 2019-2020 season, Linhan was appointed Conducting Fellow by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra where she had the privilege of serving as Marin Alsop’s cover conductor.
As an Assistant Conductor, Linhan has worked with many renowned conductors such as Leon Fleisher and Xian Zhang.
Cui was born in Shenyang, China and began her piano studies at the age of four. She started conducting at age eighteen, as a student at the Xinghai Conservatory, Guangzhou, completing her undergraduate studies there.
She is pursuing doctoral studies in orchestral conducting at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the guidance of Arthur Fagen. Cui holds a master of music degree from the Peabody Conservatory.
She has participated in masterclasses and activities with the USA National Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Symphony Orchestra and Cleveland Symphony Orchestra.
