Dinastia Borja Programme: the earliest pieces featured in the programme date from 1238, followed by works by Guillaume Dufay, Gilles Binchois, anonymous pieces from the Cançoner de Montecassino, J. Ockeghem, Josquin Des Prez, the Valencian Song of the Sibyl, and pieces by the composers Lluís del Milà, Mateu Flecha, Bartomeu Cárceres, Cristóbal de Morales and Venegas de Henestrosa, among many others, which take the audience up to 1671, the year in which Francis Borgia was canonized. In short, it constitutes a broad historical and musical survey, encompassing a variety of different languages, which offers a rich perspective on the important role played by the Borgias in the cultural life of the Renaissance, untarnished by the dark shadow enveloping a legacy which deserved to be restored and remembered.
